You'll be surprised at your first visit. Our friendly staff will welcome you, help you with any forms that you may require completing and put you at ease.
There’s no need to be apprehensive – it’s an opportunity for us to meet you and for you get to know us. It’s important that a relationship with your dental team starts with listening and establishing trust.
We begin with a full review of your relevant medical history followed by a one on one discussion about your dental concerns and goals – both immediate and long term. It's important to establish this so that we can insure that your needs are being met. Once we've established what has brought you to us, we follow with a comprehensive exam that includes a head and neck exam, oral cancer screening, and full review of all hard (teeth and bone) and soft (gum, cheeks, lips etc.) tissue of the mouth. If required, we will also begin with the appropriate radiographs (x-rays) so we can see what the naked eye cannot. Although we practice “radiation hygiene” and try to keep the number of pictures we take to a minimum, they are vastly important as a diagnostic tool. To minimize the amount of radiation and, at the same time increase their efficacy, we now use “state of the art” digital radiography. If required, photos and models are often taken to insure we have all the diagnostic information needed to make a comprehensive treatment plan.
By using all this collected information, our team will determine a " plan of action" and you can then meet with our treatment coordinator to determine your priorities and develop a path to make it come to life. Often sitting down, reviewing pictures and having someone spend the time explaining what is required can neutralize the fears that you've had about getting dental work done. All options will be presented and any financial concerns and questions you have can be addressed at this meeting. If required, an estimate can be sent to your insurance company on your behalf.
If you have scheduled an appointment and have not yet been to our clinic, please download the necessary forms and bring them in completed, or drop them off ahead of schedule so we can be better prepared for your visit. We also have a comfort care menu that you can print off or email back to us so we can ensure your visit is a pleasant as possible. If you have any further questions about what to expect when visiting our office, please feel free to contact us as soon as possible.
